COLLETTE MARTIN
Reiki
I am a Reiki Master practitioner. I have been practicing Reiki for over a decade. When I experienced Reiki for the first time I was hooked, I found it to be deeply relaxing and healing.
I am trained in Usui Ryoho Shiki Reiki at Master level for animals and humans. Looking to further my knowledge and experience with animals, I studied for a diploma in animal healing with the Healing Animals Organisation and graduated in 2016. The course covered animal healing, anatomy and physiology of small animals, diet and nutrition, animal behavior and bereavement. I have found Reiki to be helpful for animals as they also need support the same as us. (Animal sessions usually take place at the animals home).
As an animal and human Reiki practitioner member of the UK Reiki Federation, I am bound by codes of ethics and standards of practice.
I am a voluntary practitioner member for Reiki Medic-Care. This is a non-profit organization that provides remote Reiki to National Health Service health care professionals in the UK. I have volunteered at the RSPCA offering Reiki to rescue dogs, and I am currently a volunteer at an Animal Welfare Center offering Reiki to dogs.
A client information form will be completed before attending the Reiki session. A treatment plan will be discussed, agreed and reviewed as necessary, it can be changed at any time in line with progress.
During the session, which generally takes an hour, the client will usually be laying down or sitting comfortably, there is no need to remove clothes as Reiki energy passes through materials. Hands will be gently placed on or over the body, there is no massage or manipulation. Reiki is a gentle non-invasive yet powerful therapy.
Reiki offers a space of peace and calm and is deeply relaxing. The best way to understand what a Reiki session feels like, and the benefits of this holistic therapy is to experience it.
There are no known harmful effects when using Reiki on its own. It is not based on belief, faith or suggestion.
