Beyond a story of Separation

  • The Anderida Practice Forest Row, England, RH18 United Kingdom (map)

A foundation in Nonviolent Communication and Restorative practice with a systemic lens.

Dates: 27th and 28th April, 10am-5pm each day

Requested contribution: £75-£295 self-selecting sliding scale (and if this is a barrier please get in touch)

Join Sophie for this 2 day exploration where we will explore an approach based in Restorative Practice and Nonviolent Communication that builds the muscles for us to walk each other towards a new paradigm of living and relating.

During this course, you will:

Understand and apply Nonviolent Communication skills and capacities

Explore what it is to use power “with” others

Bring a systemic lens to individual experience

Learn and practice tools to express yourself with authenticity and hold compassionate boundaries

Build capacity to receive others fully, and with resonance and empathy, even when you disagree

Experience difference as enriching rather than threatening

Look at personal and collective accountability

Shift from a problem coming between us to a dilemma we can share.

We will reveal and transform mechanisms of the domination system that we have inherited, internalized, and continue to reproduce...where I make people the problem and see myself or others wrong... in order to reconnect to the flow of life, look at what is wanting to be revealed, and find a way forward together.

This workshop is facilitated by Sophie Docker, who is a certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication and Restorative Practice and Restorative Justice practitioner working with organisations, groups and communities, seeking to align their culture, structures and actions with their values. This course offers a foundation in the needs based approach that underpins this work.

Sophie works across a range of sectors offering training, coaching, consultancy and facilitating ways through conflict, stuckness and tension. She works in various collaborations including with charity OpenEdge Transforming Conflict whose focus is power, identity and difference, and The Restorative Engagement Forum who work with organisations to embed restorative ways of working and train facilitators to support individuals and groups to engage with conflict.
