Qoya is based on the idea that through movement we remember. We remember that we are wise, wild, and free. Qoya invites you to slow down to feel more, to spiral inward, to notice what is happening in your body – the feelings and sensations – as you move, dance and breathe. We nourish ourselves through movement as medicine and honour the land that we dance upon.
Wise, wild and free draw reference to each of the movement forms that are practised. Wise calls upon the wisdom of Yoga, intention setting and contemplative practices and the ongoing invitation to slow down and connect with the wisdom inside of us. Wild sees us working with the creative expression that we find in dance. The free element of Qoya helps us to expand our capacity to enjoy being in our body, to move in a way that feels nourishing for you in that moment. The sessions are designed to take you on a gentle and pleasurable healing journey. Understanding that there is no way of doing it wrong, only your way.
Qoya has so many benefits, it can help with both physical and emotional healing. Through mindful movement we can release negative feelings and emotions, revel in the joy of dancing in any way that feels right for us and connect with our intentions, dreams and desires.

All classes are set to gorgeous music that weaves the theme and intention of our time together. We begin with a gentle meditation, set our intention/theme for the class, we then circle and softly move our bodies to find a space of connection. In our next pillar we focus on opening our heart space, dropping that attention down to our hips. We offer our yoga as prayer, invite our body to dance with anything it would like to welcome in. We shake our bodies to shed any unwanted feelings or energy and then move freely to expand into joy and the willingness to receive.
The invitation is to arrive with an open heart, and leave feeling connected, relaxed, and energised. We close with a story meditation which takes you on a unique journey into divine relaxation. The perfect way to end the evening.
No experience is necessary, just an open mind and heart. The classes suit all fitness levels and ages. Please bring a mat and blanket although cushions and some mats are provided.
Classes are £15 for 90 minutes and include tea, a gift.
